Alastor chuckled. "Well, I suppose I can't fault her for being security conscious, if that was the case."
Snorting inelegantly, he shook his head. "You don't even want to know. They've had twenty-six years where nothing happened. Literally, they keep trying to tell me. They disbanded the Patrol and made the Aurors take on both duties because there was so little to do." No preparation. Even though he'd seen how ill prepared they'd been, he still couldn't believe they'd not at least attempted to keep some kind of vigilance.
"Oh yes, lovely people running the government," he said dryly.
