Honestly by the time they had gotten up to the castle, Caradoc might have been glad to find Death Eaters there, that this had all been some sort of ruse - torture him with insanity before eventually killing him. It would be effective to say the least. But when they reached the castle what waited for them was not Death Eaters, as he very nearly hoped, but a vaguely familiar face.
The girl had said she would take him to Moody, but this was not the man he knew. He was older, that much was obvious simply from the look of him, but if that wasn't enough there was the addition of a new eye - one that was hard not to take notice of as Caradoc was doing now.
"That is putting it mildly." He continued his frank appraisal of the man who looked a bit like Moody should, but wasn't right. Everything about tonight was wrong - Hogwarts, the girl who had found him, and now Moody. Caradoc didn't like it one bit. "How about everything," He shook his head. "Last thing I know I'm in the Black Forest tracking a Death Eater and then suddenly I'm coming out of the forbidden forest. Things haven't changed so much in my time on the continent that you can apparate into the castle now, have they?"
He was still looking for some sort of logical explanation for all of this, and any stories about reanimation or anything even vaguely resembling that were pushed out of his mind almost as soon as they had been put there. Which meant very nearly everything that Tonks had told him.
