Re: Marlene/Jacob
"Uncomfortable perhaps." Jacob decided nodding, it had always been part of a job before, and he'd always been much more clothed in the past as well.
"I do many things because I am asked, not out of consideration for anyone but myself. It is easier to do things when asked than be pushed into them after a tedious battle of wills. I do the training here, and sorting the mail simply because I am asked." There was a difference though between those tasks and wearing muggle clothing for Patrick, but Jacob wasn't sure he could place it.
Jacob nodded, the people at the Farm House had all made at least an attempt to be friendly, or if not friendly then not to share any of their true feelings about him to his face while he'd stayed there. He opened his mouth to reply and stopped when the last thing she had said struck a chord with him. He wanted to be nice to Patrick, though he couldn't explain it. With Peter he never even pretended to be nice to the younger man, and with Marlene they were both honest with one another, even when that made Jacob say something that could be considered rude, but with Patrick Jacob didn't have the same desire to let sarcasm reign the way he did when dealing with others.
"I am not a nice person." He said after several long quiet minutes. "Eventually I will do something or say something to damage the connection permanently."
