"Very nearly?" she asked lightly. "I'll have you know, Mr. Selwynn, that I was brought up properly, knowing my etiquette." She broke into a grin. "I could pull it off if I had to, but I get bored," she admitted. "It takes hours to say what I say in five minutes." She picked up two new glasses of champagne and handed him one. "However, I am delighted to be spending time with you."
She listened to his few words, and knew that there was more. Whether Jacob even knew what it was, she wasn't sure. "How so, love? I've spoken to him and he seems pretty straight forward. So what exactly makes him confusing?"
