He smirked when she sounded for just the briefest of moments like the pureblood he knew her to be. "You ought to be careful talking like that, you'll give people the wrong idea about you." Not that Marlene for once sounding the way she ought to was necessarily a bad thing.
Jacob sighed when she giggled at him, it didn't make the idea of any of it any easier to stomach for him. "No, he didn't." He agreed, frowning slightly - still not completely at ease with the idea that Patrick didn't want anything from him. "I think next year the party shouldn't be quite so gaudy." And just like he wasn't completely at ease with Patrick and his easy intimacy, it was just as strange with Marlene, though he had an easier time accepting it from her, perhaps because they didn't have sex for all the teasing she did.
