"You don't have to insist. Ted is family, and therefore exempt from classification. It's truly the only way I can make this work, and deal with my brother," he said, with a tiny smile. "Besides, he's not just your son, he's a Black, and I do want him involved in the family when this is over." That reminded him that he hadn't told Remus about the new ideas about his project. "I spoke to Draco about a cultural centre to promote purebloods tradition, and not the way the Dark Lord means them. A school for the younger children, a club continued inside Hogwarts, but also music lessons and riding, and libraries. Classes on etiquette. I want to get everyone involved, even Sirius, but I mean Andromeda and Belvina, even Draco and his family, Scorpius included. Of course that means, Ted too. He could help run it. He seems good at administrating things. I'm sure we'll be able to get plenty of contributions, and even Ministry grants. Maybe a small tuition for the school. I want it self-sufficient so that it's not forever dependent on the family."
He sighed. "That's not true, Remus. You are a very good teacher. You get them to listen to you, but you need to move past your own preconceptions before you can teach them properly. If I thought that was the best you could do, I wouldn't have said anything, but I know you can do so much better."
Regulus smiled while he listened to Remus, because he had a way of making him feel better. Remus understood him and what was important to him, and hearing it described so well pushed away some of his own fears. "It makes more sense when you say it like that. We'll still have those children, the project is just slightly postponed until the Dark Lord is dead, and then we start looking at things with more interest." When Remus had first brought it up, the idea had been vague, more a way to indulge Remus, to give him the time he had asked for and waiting for him to get bored, but now Regulus wanted it as much as Remus and they would find a way.
He snorted. "And this is why you are a soft-hearted Gryffindor. The Cruciatus is the best learning tool if you don't have a problem with casting it. People are extremely co-operative afterwards, and it saves so much time. Besides, it teaches them to be more careful in the future. Although I doubt that they would listen to me. " He knew what Remus meant. His conversation with James hadn't been easy, because it was James, but family relationships didn't make everything better. "I understand that, Remus, but they are too set in their ways. He wanted a proposal. When I said, teach them to kill and send them out to do that, he called it 'generalities'. I don't see what's simpler than learning the killing curse, going out and casting it. You don't need a proposal; you need a wand."
