RP: Remus/Regulus Who: Remus Lupin and Regulus Black Where: Hogwarts, their quarters When: Wednesday, 14 July, 2025, evening Rating/Warnings: Summary: Remus waits and tries to explain.
It seemed like forever since Remus had been brooding for this long. Not since Greyback's return, at least, had he been this removed from people, if then. He hadn't felt like this much of a failure since Lily attacked Harry, or this lost since that horrible time in March when he'd thought he was losing Regulus. In a way, he felt like that again. They might still be sharing rooms and a bed, but they hardly touched at all. It seemed as though Regulus was truly disgusted with Remus in a way Remus had never felt before and he didn't know what to do about it.
So, he'd spent the last couple nights like this. Once he was done for the day, he came back to their rooms and sat on the sofa, knees pulled up with his chin resting on them and his hands clasped together at his ankles. He'd done a lot of thinking that way. Some of it helpful. Some of it not quite so much. But, as he didn't do much else until they went to bed and he he could lay there thinking long into the night, there was a lot of thinking of all kinds happening.
Tonight, however, he'd run into Lily, who wanted him to talk to James and Remus thought if he was talking to anyone first, it would be Regulus. There was still more thinking to be done while he waited for Regulus to come back from the lab. But, instead of raising his head to say hello and then letting the other man go about his business without interruption, when Regulus finally came in, Remus raised his head and said "I'm sorry. I haven't meant to shut you out the last couple of days. I just had a lot to think about before I felt I could talk. Can we talk now?"
