RP: Remus and Harry, A Demonstration Who: Remus Lupin, Harry Potter, others may watch (add your tags) Where: Hogwarts, Transfiguration Courtyard When: Monday 12 July, 2025 Rating/Warnings: Summary: A sparring match turns into a semi-public demonstration.
After the subject had come up with Regulus the night before, Remus had approached Harry about his thoughts on their sparring match during the other man's dinner break and they'd set out the terms for something more in the line of a semi-public demonstration during Remus' training session that afternoon. It was the same principle as the duel Severus hadn't let Remus and Regulus fight at the beginning of the year. He wanted the trainees to really see how things worked in practice, how things could be used in tangent, how seemingly innocuous spells could become dangerous.
And, he might be just a little bit anxious to test himself against Harry, who the populace at least recognised as one of the best fighters of the era, even if some in Remus' acquaintance did not. Those instincts the drew from a more primal source were eager to prove something as well.
As soon as the daily meeting for his shift let out, he set about preparing the Transfiguration Courtyard for that afternoon. A central area was spelled off for the actual fighting to happen. Only he and Harry could pass through it until the fight was over. Trainees and watchers would remain on the outside in a small perimeter of space left on all four sides. A note was left outside his classroom directing anyone joining his session that day to make their way to the courtyard.
As promised, he sent a fire message to Regulus as well, letting his lover know they'd set the match for that afternoon if he still wished to come and watch.
Harry's shift ended just as Remus' session began and Remus waited until Harry arrived before explaining what was going on to the assembled trainees. Then he turned to Harry with a grin. "All right, nothing lethal or Moody may kill us. Broken bones also considered suicide by Moody. Everything else is fair game. Ready?"
