"I never thought baby sitting was part of the job description, but I brought up one lad already. I think I can deal with more." He didn't mention that Charlie had started in a reserve filled with people who knew what they were doing. "We'll figure it out, I'm sure. Maybe we can change our shifts around for the next few days, I can keep my 6:00 to 18:00 and move you up 8:00 to 20:00. They'd be alone at night, but they have dinner and free time. They don't have to do anything other than check the spells before going to bed, and we can both make sure that they are fine when we settle the dragons for that night. This way, we can both be up there when the dragons are flying." That was the job of the younger guys, but right now that was suicide.
He chuckled. "We should offer the option." He didn't really mean it. They didn't need even more people around for the dragons to sense. "Look, despite my objections, we do what's good for the dragons, and if she's the best, then we keep her. We'll need time to figure that out since the dragons are so spooked that we have no idea if it's her or just the situation, but being ready with a back up is probably best. We probably should anyway. In case anyone gets injured or there are problems."
