"You're not whinging," he assured her. "And no one would let you scrub toilets. They don't even do that for detention." He hugged her, and kissed her once more before joining her in cleaning up for tomorrow.
"I'm getting up to go to Kingsley's," Hugo said, with only a slight wince. "I want to see what he's like. If you feel like getting up to be there by four, we can go together." He liked to attend sessions with her, that way he could see where she needed help.
"I'll go easy on you until you get the hang of the game," he offered. "And then when you're better than I am, you can gloat. And to answer your question, I beat most everyone except my Dad. He's still the best at Chess."
