Re: Stephen, Andromeda
"Not all of them," he pointed out. "Sirius Black was a Gryffindor and he's still making the history books, especially with his marriage to James Potter." He still didn't understand why they had done it, but then Gryffindors liked their grand standings. Still, he was more interested in her reaction than the wedding.
"Nonsense. Books should be shared. Feel free to come when you want. Pipsy, my house elf, will take you there." There was nothing there that could hurt her or his family and he truly believed that books should be shared.
"Books are a very broad subject. Is there something in particular? A librarian perhaps? Although that sounds beneath a Black. Maybe research in a particular field. I was always partial to Arithmancy, but Ancient Runes are fascinating too." He grinned at her. "Unless you think that any job is beneath you. I was told by another Black woman that your job is decide politics and influence society over teas and dinners. Much like it's happening tonight, I suspect."
Stephen shook his head. "It's not boring. It all depends what you plan to do with this love you have." He gestured towards the shelves. "There is nothing boring about this, but I grew up in a Slytherin family and I know how this seems irrelevant unless it's used for personal gain. I think if you're smart enough it can be more than just personal gain."
"There is nothing wrong with knowledge in any field. It's how it's obtained and what one does with it that matters. I've saved a few lives thanks to that knowledge, although I'm sure your sister wouldn't approve." He chuckled, but pleased to see that she didn't seem to approve of her sister's ways. "She's has kindly offered to change the rules for me, but I'd rather work within established guidelines. Healing and killing aren't exactly synonyms."
