"The details on how this is all happening are a mystery to all of us," Alastor added. "All of a sudden those who'd died in the past started appearing here at Hogwarts nearly a year ago now. Some come from the moment they died, others from earlier. Ravenclaws all over are puzzling it out, I'm certain."
Sighing, he leaned forward a bit, one arm resting on his thigh as he spoke. "We should get some practicalities out of the way and then I'll let your dad have you to himself for a bit." Alastor loved his nephew, but Callum deserved the time with his son. "Unfortunately, while your timing was excellent as far as the fact both your father and I were here when you came back, you've landed in the middle of a war. Same enemy, the one we called He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named in your time, but who I prefer to call That Bastard, though I think your father might disagree with my encouraging you to use that term. My point with the names, however, is that his true name is under Taboo. He and his forces took control of the Ministry three days ago and everyone here at the school is considered outlaw. Saying the name will alert them to this location, which we'd like to avoid as long as we can.
"The same holds true for the name of your former Headmaster, and a couple other terms I doubt you'd be likely to say anytime soon, however, after dinner your father can take you into the Great Hall and you can read the Prophet announcement with the full list.
"We're living here with as many refugees as we could take in after the attack last Friday. Essentially, we've set up martial law under the direction of three men -- myself, Severus Snape, who I believe was a classmate of yours, and Jamie Potter, the grandson of another pair of classmates. You've quite a few classmates who've come back from various points in time and I'm sure they'll be more than happy to help you get settled. This is the security office, and you can find me here any time you have questions as well. Your dad, now, we've given him a doozy of a task that I'm sure he'd love to get you to help out with and I'll let him you about it," he finished with a laugh.
Alastor glanced at his brother. "Have I left off anything you'd rather I cover? Or shall I leave you two alone and make arrangements with Hermione to get quarters prepared for Baron?"
