Bill, Al, Peter
Bill listened with amusement as he took the notes and went over them. They were good, very good, he had to admit that. "These will be very valuable as a starting point," he said. "And we'll make sure you get access to the books you need Al," he said while still reading the notes, running the calculations in his head.
He stopped at page three, looking at the page. "You've got a problem here," he told Peter. "The answer to your calculation is based on the assumption that this is a constant, a seemingly logical assumption based on theory but put into practise it doesn't work. Trust me on that one."
"If you make the following changes-" He took out his wand and conjured a quill and parchment and started redoing the calculation based on observations he'd made on the field as well as in his own research. "You'll find that you'll end up with a different, and more accurate, answer," he finished, handing Peter the altered calculation while finishing going over his note. "It's the only mistake I can see so far, however, and this does look good. Can I keep them and go over them more carefully? We can start working on them properly tomorrow."
