RP: General meeting Who: Everyone at Hogwarts Where: Great Hall When: 11:00 am, 19 June, 2025 Rating/Warnings: Summary: It's time to inform everyone
James took a chair and transformed it into a podium, before looking over the Great Hall. If talking to his family had been intimidating, it was nothing compared to this. They were 285 people in this room, most of them older than him, and he was supposed to make him listen. If Narcissa Malfoy could see him now! She'd knew that she'd made the right appointment, because he wouldn't let anyone intimidate him.
Casting a Sonorus spell, he finally spoke up. "Ladies and Gentlemen, I know you've been waiting to have some news, so if you all could sit down and give a few minutes of your time we can start." He smiled at them, like he would have done at the Ministry, but this was a lot messier with mothers getting their children, newborns screaming, but finally it was as quiet as it would get. "Thank you. Now, we should start with introductions. My name is Jamie Potter. The man in the middle of the High Table is Headmaster Severus Snape, and over there, it's Alastor Moody. We are the people in charge. You have a problem; you come to us." He found that in time of crises, people just listened to whoever sounded in charge, so he didn't give any more explanation.
"We might as well get the bad news out of the way. Voldemort is in charge of the Ministry and Dumbledore is dead. I know it sounds terrible, but there is a lot of good news as well. The three of us have been working with professor Dumbledore to ready ourselves just for this occasion. This scenario was on of many that we've trained for, and steps have been taken to protect the school and everyone inside it. The school was sealed last night. We have aerial protection, preventing anyone from flying in. There are defences all along the walls and the gate. The lake has been secured as well. Nothing and no one can come in. The other side of the coin is that we have no contact with the outside for the time being. This will change in the future, but don't expect to walk out of here any time soon," he said. "This doesn't mean that we can afford to lower our guard. Voldemort is very powerful, and he could break through our defences. For this reason, we have security measures that we expect everyone to obey. There will be repercussions if you don't."
He let that sink in, before he started to the actual rules. "Everyone has been assigned rooms. For the first few days, we ask that you try to stay in your assigned rooms. You are more than welcome to come here or outside in the courtyards. There is plenty of open spaces that no one should need to go to the grounds. MLE personnel has been assigned to rooms on all floors. You are expected to sleep there, in case of an emergency. Civilians are only allowed from the dungeons to the third floor. That means that at the moment the library is off limits. We will reopen it come Monday and people will be given very few hours in which they can go there. The owlery is officially off limits to anyone who is not authorized by one of us. No communication with the outside is allowed at this time." Considering how paranoid the three of them were, he wasn't above imprisoning anyone they considered a spy.
"There are classrooms right outside. That's where our temporary headquarters will be. They will be clearly marked. The first one is security headquarters. All MLE personne and all Order members are supposed to report there, and you will be given assignments. We would like to ask any of the werewolves to come and talk to us, even if you don't have fighting experience. There's also a room for the civil headquarters. Ms. Granger - and please if I mention your names, would you stand up so people can see you? - and Mr. Ted Lupin will be responsible for assigning job, helping people adjust, problems with rooms, and such. They have also compiled a list of people we know died. It is far from accurate, but it's the best we have at the moment. We will try to get more information about that." Hopefully, there wouldn't be that many names.
"We have professor Longbottom, who will be in charge of food and potions ingredients. If you have any experience with farming or herbology, report to him. There is an Herbology headquarter as well. Professor Black is responsible for our potion supply. As you can imagine we will need plenty. Anyone with experience should talk to him. Also, Mr. Patrick Pucey will be helping, some of you know him from the clinic. Professor Bones is setting up a school for the younger children. Anyone who has experience can talk to her. We don't have many children, so we don't expect too many to be assigned to her. There will be a research team headed by Mr. Bill Weasley. It will be by invitation mostly, but if you know advanced arithmancy, speak with him." He paused again, because people needed to digest the information, but never too much time that they would start asking questions. "We don't know how long we're going to be here. For this reason, it is vital that everyone helps. Everyone will be assigned a job. We will also have classes for everyone. While we don't expect every single one to fight, we want all of you to know basic defence, so I'm sorry, but everyone will have to train. Also accommodations are being made for the full moon. Patrick will let you know what you need. The rest of the people here will be safe, since none of you should be on the grounds at night anyway."
He looked at Alastor and Severus, and then back to the crowd. "We don't have anything else at the moment, but we'll be glad to answer questions."
