Summary: The Order retreats to Hogwarts.

As soon as Jamie was out of the Ministry, he Apparated to Grimmauld Place, and began sending messages.

He sent the first message to Severus and Moody. Voldemort has taken control of the Ministry, get ready to set up defences at Hogwarts. Be there as soon as I inform everyone..

The second was a fire message to all members of the Order: Voldemort has control of the Ministry. You and your family are to relocate at Hogwarts immediately. Take anything necessary; you won't go back.

Then there was fire message to the teachers on board who were members of the Order, while the ones who weren't received a Patronus with the exact message.

Voldemort has control of the Ministry and there was an explosion at King's Cross. Do not tell the students or you'll have panic. Stop the train, Apparate the Muggleborns home and advise them to leave immediately. Advice anyone capable of Apparating, with or without a license, to take themselves and any siblings home. When done, retreat to Hogwarts and bring Hugo, Alex, Roxanne and Louis Weasley.

Another Patronus was for Al: Voldemort has control of the Ministry. Go to Hogwarts immediately. Take anything necessary from the house, because you won't go back.

Finally, he sent a last message to Sirius. You'd better be okay. I'm going to Hogwarts, get your arse there, and let me know, you're okay.

Finally, he changed into something more comfortable, grabbed his broom and anything that he could think they'd need in the coming months. Thankfully, they had the house under Fidelius and would be able to return. He handed the trunk to Dolan and told him to go straight to Kreacher and then he Apparated to Hogwarts, the last free place in the country.

A man found him, a man that could only be Alastor's brother from his looks, and after introducing himself, he told him about Sirius and explained what had happened. Jamie didn't wait to hear the rest, but instead, he sent Alastor a message and ran to the infirmary.

He went straight to the bed where Sirius was. "Hey, love. Are you okay?" he asked as he leaned to kissed him gently. "I was worried about you."

Sirius's head was feeling pretty cloudy - he'd gotten any number of potions and even more spells cast on him after Callum left him to go find James. Honestly, he didn't think he'd been hurt that bad, did they really need to use that many spells? But then he hadn't really paid attention to how much blood he'd been losing either.

"Hi." He grinned when James found him. "He found you, I told him to find someone with red hair." Sirius was proud of how well that had worked out, since it got James to him. "M'okay." He promised. "Wasn't all that bad."

"Yes, he explained something about redheads and uncle Charlie," he said, chuckling. "The important thing is that he found me. I can't stay long, things are still crazy, but I wanted to make sure you were all right."

He knew that Sirius wasn't all right, or at least he hadn't been if he was so out of it, but it was easier to pretend otherwise. He was too busy to panic. "I'll let Remus and Regulus know. Dad, too. Can you tell me what happened, baby? I need as much information as possible."

Sirius reached for James' hand holding it in his, letting the warmth of it seep into his own hand. "Need help?" He asked, like he was really going to be able to go downstairs and help with anything right then.

He nodded, Remus and Regulus should know, and Harry too - they were all important. James could tell them he was okay. "Bellatrix." He sighed shaking his head. "She was there, and she saw me, wanted to play." He still felt a little dizzy after shaking his head, but pushed down that feeling of the world spinning, swallowing it down. "She's better than I remember, got your message though in the middle of it all. Right before this one hit me." He said bringing a hand up to indicate his shoulder wincing as he did. "Left after that."

James sat on the edge of the bed and squeezed Sirius' hand. "Yeah, I need you to stay here and protect the infirmary. I'm sure you'll do a brilliant job."

He wanted to scream when he heard Bellatrix' name. "Wanted to play? And you let her? Of course she's better, Sirius. You were in Azkaban and she's been through three wars with this. You don't play with her." He frowned when he said that he got hit because of the message. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to distract you. I was just worried, and I hadn't heard from you. I'm so sorry," he said, leaning down for another kiss.

"That's not a very exciting job." He sighed when James told him he needed him to stay there, he supposed he could manage it though. Things were still a little spiny.

"Didn't really play with her." Not the way they had when they'd been younger, of course they weren't trying to kill each other then either - though that hadn't made it much less painful then. James was right though, Sirius had known it even when he turned to see his cousin there - he should have left then, could have spared himself all of this.

"Not your fault." He promised squeezing James' hand, gods only know what would have happened if he hadn't gotten James' message at all. If he'd just kept fighting with her, his chances of making it out of there at all would have been much slimmer. "That was my fault, and I'm okay, really. Callum fixed me, do you know him?" He wondered, his mind breaking off on a tangent again.

"I know, love, but it's just for now, and we need someone to keep the infirmary save." He smiled down at his husband. "Just for a little bit, until we move to our room."

James sighed. "You still stayed, when you promised me that you'd be careful. You told me you'd leave. God, Sirius, you can't keep doing this, okay? I know we will have to fight, but not out of revenge. That gets you killed."

He rolled his eyes. "How is it not my fault? I distracted you." He had no way of knowing what was happening, but it was still his fault. "Yeah.... well not really, but he's Alastor's brother. He just got here."

Keeping the infirmary safe sounded like a much better idea than just staying here for no reason, he could do that. "Okay." He nodded, deciding he could do that job.

"I know." Sirius sighed, he might have been a little loopy, but he still knew he'd messed up in staying. "I was leaving and then she was just there and I don't know what happened." And really it didn't matter, he'd stayed when he said he'd leave.

He shrugged. "I probably would have stayed if you hadn't." He offered finally. Maybe James had distracted him, maybe he wouldn't have gotten hit if James didn't send him that message but Sirius knew it was the reason he'd come to his senses. That he would have stayed, might have even gotten himself killed if James hadn't.

"Thought he looked familiar." That Callum was Alastor's brother made perfect sense. He certainly seemed nicer than Moody ever did.

"Good, I trust you to do a great job from this bed. You can send me a message if anything happens," he said, knowing that Sirius would likely be asleep pretty soon.

James sighed. "She talked, and you stayed, and then you fought." He didn't need to be there to know that.

When Sirius went one, James leaned down and pressed their foreheads together. He knew what Sirius was saying. He would have stayed and he would have got himself killed. "Then I'm glad I sent it. I love you, and I can't lose you." He drew back and kissed Sirius' forehead. "I have to go. There's too much to do but I'll be back soon. I promise."

Sirius nodded, he could handle that - and things were pretty subdued up here as it was. "From this bed." He repeated. He doubted it was nearly as helpful as going down and helping with what was happening down there, but he could do this.

"I know, I'm sorry." He sighed when James leaned down to him, he wanted to keep him here, to forget about everything that was going on downstairs and just focus on James and try and make up for what he'd done. He nodded though when James sat up again, squeezing his hand. "I'll be here." He promised. "You go do what you need to."
