Re: Remus
Kingsley wandered through Hogwarts in a fog. He'd gotten to King's Cross too late to do much good, other than pick up the pieces. It was his parents all over again... It was every other atrocity he'd ever seen the Death Eaters commit... on steroids.
And, on top of all that, Albus Dumbledore was dead. Yes, he was aware that the old Headmaster was killed in the last war, but Kingsley obviously couldn't remember that. So, to him, the very idea that the spearhead of the Order was gone was ludicous.
Kingsley felt helpless. But more importantly, Kingsley was growing angry, to the point where he would gladly throttle to death any Death Eater who crossed his path. Fortunately for him, a Death Eater was not who crossed his path. Unfortunately, Kingsley was too lost in his own thoughts to notice the person he'd bumped into, at first.
