Emmeline stopped in her tracks, staring at Marlene. "Dumbledore-" She didn't finish the sentence, just looked at the chaos around them. "He's dead. I knew it. Voldemort would never have dared otherwise."
She listened, because even distracted she always listened, then nodded. "We'll get it to his room," she said. "Did he have one here?" she asked.
"How do you know it was the last?" she asked, starting to walk again, ignoring the stab at her heart that tried to disrupt her logic. No now she needed every bit of logic she could master, feelings could come in second place.
"I'll help you," Emm said. "And before you say no, I'm not hurt enough not to think," she said. "Nor am I future unit head any longer. There is nothing to head any longer. I might as well put my logic to use, couple it with your feeling and intuition."
