"I don't want that to happen either," Mona agreed softly, and the lemon ice was forgotten in her hand, melting.
She smiled and put her arm through Alex's and leaned up against him. "And I don't want to not hold hands or feel like we can't kiss right now. I don't care what other people think. I don't care if we get teased. They can go sod off," Mona said, her voice quiet but determined.
Then she discovered that her head wasn't hurting so much anymore. She grinned. "Hey, I think those pills are working. My head doesn't hurt."
