"I don't think it's so bad... Most of the time you can win them with the ring toss. But I agree, I rather have a plush." She was smiling and chuckling softly at the group. Tomorrow sounded like it would be awesome.
"It's a cute idea, but like I said... They never last never long. I think they are too sensitive to be sold as pets. All willy nilly," Milan spoke to no one in particular, but the table as a whole.
"Hey, Lucy, can you pass the-"
It was rather odd how her sentence was cut off, but it was even more unusual had Milan stiffened in her chair and her fork clattered from her fingers. She'd been looking in Lucy's direction, but now her eyes had gone hazy as she focused on nothing. Lips were slightly parted, but she didn't seem to be breathing. Just rigid with an awkward expression on her face.
There was blue fire everywhere, as well as a thick smog of incense blocking her view and causing her to gag on the fume. This fire danced and surrounded her in a circle, tall enough that it was touching the ceiling of the room she was in. A room she'd never seen before and couldn't make out much detail from. Along with the incense smoke, there was a sense of forewarning in the air. It was like an electric charge.
A chuckle sounded. A low, rumbling sort and before her a man stepped out. No...No, not a man. What the hell!? Was he some sort of werewolf? Through the smoke, Milan blinked up at some guy who looked like he had a wolf's head. Some of the smoke cleared as well as her perception. Holy shit. A tremor went through her body. Anubis? Yes, she definitely recognized the statuesque male as Anubis. She could she that it wasn't a wolf's head, but a jackal's. And he was staring dead at her. He didn't say anything. Not one thing, but just stared. The fire he stood in didn't burn him, but Mil could practically feel the heat on her skin. The dream was too lucid and it was frightening her by the second. Yet she couldn't move or speak, just gaze back in what she would think was horror.
Then suddenly it was as if she was released and falling backwards through water. The scene faded out and Anubis, the figure she remembered learning about in school, faded away too, but not before a reach up and hand that wasn't any different than any man's. The hand pointed at her. A very stern point, and she remembered as she was falling away that it felt like she'd gotten in trouble for something, like she would in class.
Things faded and she was back at the dinner table as if nothing happened. For a moment it was like only looking through her eyes, but then her body spasmed, causing her to almost fall from her seat, even though during some moment of this episode, her fingers had practically gone white for the sudden grip she'd taken on the wooden dining table, while surrounded by her peers. The violent jerk was sudden, but passed, and Milan blinked in confusing. It was like she didn't even know who these people were anymore. She wanted to scream right then. A fear had built in her. One from not know what the hell just happened and one from barely know who the hell she was or who the hell these people were. Internally she was screaming like a banshee, but in reality, she wasn't even breathing yet.
Until she took a long strained and ragged breath, "Death isn't forever. Be prepared." There wasn't a clue from where that came from, but her mind was prompting her to say it for everyone to here, even if her voice was nothing more than a breathy sigh.
