Jacob snorted. "Maybe I'm hoping one day you'll understand the subtleties of a Slytherin." He suggested with a wry grin. "You know you would have done well in my house." Marlene was after all wonderfully duplicitous.
"I have not said anything about him." Jacob reminded Marlene, and he doubted very much he'd have much occasion to talk to the man in the first place. "And I don't plan to start anything with him in the near future." He assured her. It rankled a bit, having someone hit him, even Marlene who he realized was not actually attempting to hurt him. But the very idea was one he was not used to.
He rolled his eyes. "I believe you think far too highly of your little motley crew." He told her, but he didn't deny her claim outright. He might be able to live without them, but life was far less interesting without them around. "Who would have known, a Slytherin with friends, I'm sure I'll be disowned now."
