Harry laughed as Ron started complaining, relaxed in a way he just wasn't with most other people when he was with his best friend. Sinking into a boot at the far end of the room, with perfect view over the room, he smiled.
"Oh I don't think it's quite fair to compare," he said with a chuckle. "Especially since we were given next to no training but was put on the job at once." It was one of those bizarre things about the Auror core being as small as it had been back then. Training was done on the job, sparring between cases, new spells were learnt as they were needed. It was the worst possible way to prepare, but they'd gotten through it. Very few at the office even remembered those days now.
"How are their test results?" he asked. "Most of them should be finished by now, yeah?" He looked up when a waitress arrived, lowering the privacy spell he'd automatically put up so that they could order. When she left it went back up. He wasn't even sure when that had become second nature to him. Probably after one too many reporters had heard discussions between him and his friends. "How long before we get the new applicants?" He pondered the situation. "Early July? Is there something we must revise for next year or does the new curriculum hold?"
