Re: Marlene/Emmeline
She shook her head as she cast a privacy spell. "No, Emm. You stay out of this one. Like it or not, he's our superior when it comes to the Order. We don't disrupt the chain of command, no matter what. Whatever problems we have in our personal life can't interfere with the Order or the way you interact with him." She might embrace her emotions, but she also knew the importance of what they did.
She hugged Emm with one arm. "Thank you, but one of the advantage of being good at this emotional stuff is that I can deal. Besides, we've spent too much time with each other and we both need time apart. Afterwards, we can see where we stand."
Marlene smiled softly at her friends. "I know, love, but I don't think your answer upset it as much as mine, and yes, I know that it's not something logical, and he knows it too, but I can't indulge him, not with this. He threw his life away once because he thought that way. I won't let him do the same."
She nodded. "Of course I will, but if you want, you can come over and pick one of the cottages. You can buy your own furniture, whatever you like."
