Re: Harry and Severus
Harry didn't agree. "And the time she spent helping to run the DA?" he asked. "The people they sprang from detentions? The detentions I know she suffered with the Carrows when you could not protect her?" Though he had not known that Severus had protected her, or tried to, and he couldn't say he wasn't grateful. Merlin, Ginny would have his head for just thinking her in need of protection.
"I cannot say that I at that time saw her as my equal. I tried to keep her from fighting, regardless of what she might want or think. I did not ask her opinion, I just wanted her protected and safe. However, she never accepted my behaviour. She went out and fought despite of what I said, and after the war she made sure to tell me just what a fool I had been," he said with a fond smile.
"We've always been equal, Ginny would never have accepted anything else, and it doesn't come with whom has spent the most hours battling dark wizards or fighting wars, but with accepting her views and opinions as every bit as valid as mine."
He looked at Severus, wondering something. "You do realise that in marrying Al, you are marrying into this family as well?" he asked. "We do not take family lightly. You will have to make peace with Ginny somehow."
