That was definitely not what Harry had meant by experience, and a bit more information than he would have wanted, though it was not entirely unexpected. Not with the way Severus had for so long obsessed, because he could not call that by any other name, over his mother.
"I meant in life," Harry said. "You've lived through two wars, you're fighting your third, he's only feeling the effects of his first. I don't think either of us would ever suggest he'd enter into the fight and join the Order."
But as Severus went on, there was a part of him, the part who only ever wanted his children to be loved and cared for, who could not deny his son this level of adoration. And there was one aspect in there that struck something within him. "How does he make you a better person?" he asked, and even without him thinking about it, his eyes found Ginny in the crowd. The one who made him a better person.
