Of course Snape had seen Harry and Remus talking together on the fringes of the party. Remus had been congratulatory enough, but Harry... Not knowing how the man would react in public, Snape had decided to give Harry his space. But when Harry approached him, he let it happen.
Here was a better place than most: not only in public, but at a venue where he wasn't at his usual profound social disadvantage relative to Harry.
He inclined his head in a nod of greeting. "Good evening, Harry." He eyed the other man - of course, not attempting Legilimency, but simply trying to gauge his mood. The mask was well-practiced, but there was tension underlying it, all the same.
