Bill wished there was an easier way to deal with it all, but there was no easy way. The funeral pained him, but so did being at home. Every possession they had, every part of the house bore her mark. She'd been the one who took a house and turned it into her home. She was everywhere, and while he craved the memories, the constant reminders of her pained him. He kept expecting her to come back, to walk through the door. A few days was no where near enough to get used to her not being there.
He wasn't sure a lifetime would be enough.
Which was why it was easier to focus on anything else. "No," he said simply. "Of course I'm not asking you to." Not telling him not to either, if he had nothing to do with it, it wasn't his call.
