"Exactly." Charlie laughed. "I think they understand us just fine, it's just the matter of making themselves understood that is the problem." He shook his head when she mentioned telepathy. "Not it's not quite like that, there are some sounds they use, it's hard to explain if you haven't spent a lot of time around dragons."
He laughed as she continued asking questions about it. "It's hard to explain, you don't really converse with a dragon the way you would with a person or even a house elf, it's just..." He sighed unable to find the right words to describe what he was talking about. "I think this is a large part of the reason why more people don't know about it - there is of course the tendency people have to assume the worst in dragons and not look beyond stereotypes that they've held since they were young, but it's hard to talk about something when there aren't really the words you need to help describe it so anyone else can understand. I think even many of the people who work with dragons have trouble seeing beyond that, at least at first. You start to get to know them better the longer you work with them." And maybe that was the problem they were having on the reserves now, getting people out before they'd had a chance to really get to know the dragons the way they should.
He grinned and nodded. "I imagine it's in the same way I love having my family close by since I've moved back to England, but still like having my own space." He chuckled. "I have a flat, it's where I was living before I started at Hogwarts, suppose that's where I'll be going when the term is over."
