Emmeline thought about that, processed it. "So in your family you smack people when they put themselves at risk, even if doing so is sometimes necessary for saving others?" she asked, curious, and maybe she shouldn't be this curious about something that Charlie seemed to be taking as a joke, but she wasn't in a habit of denying her curiosity. "What precisely about his behaviour that night did you find idiotic? As him being hurt protecting people doesn't seem to be sufficient."
She could see the question in his eyes when she spoke, and she smiled. "I remember details," she said. "And I was at your father and sister-in-law's funeral," she explained. "It was just after I'd returned, and Dumbledore told me who the members of your family were and how they were connected and what they'd been doing. I don't forget things once I have learnt them."
She smiled at his question and nodded. "Still standing," she confirmed.
