"Oh, please," Regulus said, laughing. "It's like saying that there was a chain of command in the Death Eaters, which there was, if you want to be technical, but once Voldemort said that something was a certain way, no one would dare say the opposite. The difference here is that you aren't subjected to the Cruciatus, but the end result is the same. As long as he's alive, he makes the decisions no matter what you think, and if he wanted to exclude someone from the Order, there's little that you can do. Mind you, I don't think that's what he'll do to me. He's made it pretty obvious that he wanted me involved, but I also have no illusions when it comes to the reasons."
He looked at Alastor, when he mentioned the length of time they'd known each other. "Smart, adaptable, observant, I knew there had to be something wrong with her; she is a Gryffindor, after all," he said with a smirk. "One of those who believes in emotions and sharing feelings. I do feel sorry for you."
He snorted. "And yes, you sound remarkably like her. You don't need to worry about us. I've been perfectly aware of the risks from the moment I ended up at St. Mungo's.I know what he'd do to me if he found out the type of betrayal. I think it might be worse than Severus', but that's neither here nor there. As for Greyback, I've been on missions with him; I know what he did to Remus' parents. I know exactly what risk I face. As I told Remus, I know my strengths, which involve staying as far away from him as possible and cast killing curse after killing curse if he's anywhere near me. I'm not one of your boys. I'm not here for a better world. I'm here to kill them if the occasion arises." In fact, it would feel good to actually kill someone at this point.
"We're as safe as possible, and if something happens, we'll let you know, however, I find that Disapparating away is the easiest and safest way," he commented.
