That boy is not worthy to kiss my boots, and you should learn that now, before following him leads you to the same fate you met the last time around." She was getting upset, Jacob could tell - from the tone of her voice and the speed of her spells. It was getting more difficult to dodge and deflect them as they came his way.
He did rise to her baiting, he didn't need to justify anything of his life to someone who so willingly followed someone so unworthy of their time and attention.
"I'll tell them when I've finished with you." He called. "I don't think they'll mind terribly." She was too fast, he wasn't getting the opening he wanted, one that would insure he got the hit he needed to stop her. But he continued keeping his spells low, sending one after another at Bellatrix as he ducked out from under her spells and curses.
