He was used to dodging, or had been, in his line of work. It was a long time he'd needed to do this, however, and he could feel that he was less agile than he used to be. Stronger, faster, more aggressive, yes that came with the closeness of the full moon, but he wasn't as agile, he wasn't the not yet thirty year old man any longer.
Casting up a shield, he blocked several of the hexes, and managed to keep away from the fire, but when the Cruciatus curse came, no shield helped, and even as he threw himself to the side, the curse hit him and he felt pain spread through every part of his body. The screams that tore from his throat sounded strange and foreign, far off, as everything but the white hot pain was blocked out.
