Despite any pleasurable interludes Fred might have had the night before, family came first and George above all that. So there he was, hours too late to be even considered decent, working on their Wheezes. Not that it was so different than before. Of course, before everyone was still alive, but Fred wasn't going to dwell on that. Not now. Not when there was work to be done.
Accepting the asphodel from George he began to mince the leaves with quick efficiency. School might have bored the heck out of him, but he absorbed what was useful. It wasn't like he needed those pretty pieces of paper anyhow. He was doing what he was meant to be doing.
At the loud sound, Fred met George's look. What was that? he asked with a raised eyebrow and half a shrug.
