Re: After the Meeting - Marlene and Remus
"Eh, Gryffindor's not so bad, I suppose." He grinned.
"Now why doesn't that surprise me." Remus shook his head, chuckling softly. "I still think there are some teenagers out there who might surprise you. A look at history should tell you what some teenagers are capable of, at least. But, I won't argue fashion with you," he added with a smile smirk, waving at the robes he had worn to teach in himself, the red ones Regulus had given him for Christmas. "I buy simple or let others buy gifts to dress me."
Smiling gently, he reached out and briefly touched the back of her hand. "None of us are the same people, Marlene. And it's impossible to go back to what we were, especially if you've experienced pain like that, the sort that gnaws at a person when you feel like you've lost everything that mattered in your life. Love, I think, can go a long way in healing that pain."
Meeting her raised eyebrow with a placid expression, Remus shook his head. "No, I said nothing of the sort, nor implied it. You're reading things into my words. I only said you'd figure it out, how to live with the monogamy...or not. Besides," he added with a shrug. "What would I know about relationships of any kind?"
