Re: After the Meeting - Harry and Moody
Alastor wasn't buying the explanation any more than Potter, given how much they stood to gain with him as the Head of the Patrol. But, he couldn't tell Potter that particular truth. What he could do was chuckle in wry amusement and say, honestly, "Yes, well, had it not been for that position in the Order, I'd have remained an Auror, wouldn't I?"
Because, truly, he still thought Dumbledore was mental thinking he had anything like the makings of a leader -- a position he'd fancied for himself about as much as Shacklebolt had. Do things his way, yes. Be in charge? Different story.
Alastor nodded, he'd suspected Potter would understand the necessity if he was told in the right way. "I'll do my best," he said solemnly, though the smirk was in his eye. "I'll still be in the division for a while yet, I suspect. I'd like to help with the transition and bringing in a new Unit Head."
It was going to be very hard for Alastor to let go of that division completely, he began to suspect.
