Re: After the Meeting - Harry and Moody
Alastor had not been aware Dumbledore planned to announce his career plans to the Order as a whole that afternoon along with everything else. Hell, he hadn't been aware things had even progressed as far as they had. He'd thought there would be time to tell Potter himself before any sort of announcement was made public -- and the Order most certainly counted as public for this one. It was the proper way things should have been done. Notice could be given, Alastor could help with the transition of the new Unit Head, which he would recommend be Vance all things considered, and he could have explained why it had to be done.
It wasn't as if Alastor himself was even happy with the idea himself, yet. He loved his division. There was little chance of him finding that sort of thing with the Patrol, no matter if he was in charge or could build it into what it should be. It was never going to be his passion the way being an Auror had been.
Seventeen years of that passion as well as a natural talent for observation meant it wasn't lost on him that Potter hadn't looked at him once since the announcement was made. Antagonising the man was something they wanted to avoid if this was going to work and even Alastor could see this was doing just that. He didn't even need the son to point it out to him. Dumbledore should have seen it too.
As soon as the meeting adjourned for conversation, Alastor made his way over to where Potter had been sitting, pride and honour not letting him shuffle his feet on this one. "May I have a moment, Sir?" The man was still his boss until this went through and had earned the respect.
