The Meeting
"First, as you all know by now, Hannah won't be here since she gave birth to Samuel this morning. On behalf of everyone, I'd like to congratulate the beautiful mother and Neville for the birth of their son. We all need more happy, wonderful news like this," he said, smiling brightly in Neville's direction.
"Second, thanks to Marlene, we were able to disrupt Tom's designs for the future. Her insight has provided us with information about what he's planning to do." He bowed in her direction. "She is indirectly responsible for our newest member. I'm sure all of you know Stephen by now. He has this nasty habit of saving our members, so I thought that we might as well make it official.
"Finally, the reason why I've called you all here. The world has changed from what we knew back when Voldemort was gaining power. Over fifty years have passed from when we started. Our little and secret group is hardly little or secret anymore. The world around us is different too and that means that we need to adjust to best deal with these changes. Things move faster, we need to deal with Muggle communication that far surpasses ours, the Ministry has its own methods. We need to be faster and more efficient too, and that is almost impossible to do if I'm the only person giving orders. It's simply not realistic in this time," he said.
"To this end, I've asked three men to help with running the Order. Three very different men, each with unique skills to help us." He chuckled. "I'm sure some might think that I've lost my mind, but I assure you that I'm in full capacity of my faculties at the moment, and I feel that the three of them working together are our best hope not only to fight Tom at this moment but also to help us deal with any new threats that might rise in the future. The three men are Severus. He will continue to stay at Hogwarts and help us protect the school, of course. Moody, who will soon be Head of the newly reformed Magical Law Enforcement Patrol. The Wizengamot has been working with the Minister to pass the decree for its recreation as well as the funds. Hopefully, we'll be able to have a closer contact to the streets once again. James Sirius, who's just joined the Office for Media and Communications as Junior Under Secretary. He can be our bridge to the future so that the Order might last long after this threat is dealt with."
