Charlie was glad to move on to other subjects, it was obvious he and Emmeline differed on their opinion of the unforgivables and Charlie much preferred this new topic of conversation.
"Yes and no, I suppose." Charlie decided after thinking for a moment. "They let me be single, but I think for some of them they still think this is a temporary thing, I am still sowing my wild oats or something and eventually I'll find the right person to settle down with." And perhaps it was possible, it wasn't like Charlie had met every person in the world - but he had a hard time imagining himself ever finding one person he could be completely happy with for the rest of his life. Not only did it feel wrong, logically it seemed wrong - how could you really find that one person in a world filled with billions of people? It didn't make sense.
"I did actually, when I was younger and still living in Romania, I actually proposed to this girl." He chuckled at the memory. "Of course I didn't have a ring, but I got her this necklace and I asked her to marry me."
