Emmeline considered that, working around it. "Dragons, like humans, are creatures and therefore individuals who won't always act logically," she pointed out. "You will not be able to give universal facts about their behaviours without there being some exceptions." It was the thing about being an Auror. Some facts were indisputable, but when it came to the whys and the hows people were just different. Universal facts were hard to find.
"In a way, yes," she answered. "If I did not believe in making a difference even when there is a risk to your person I would not have my job. But not going, not trying, not fighting against Voldemort means a world where he wins. In the short run it might seem more logical to protect yourself, but in the long run you lose more."
"However, I do believe he could have handled the situation better and avoided being cursed. That comes with experience, which he didn't have at the time."
She smiled. "Says the single one," she pointed out with a smirk. "But relationships are in essence illogical and ruled by emotions. There can be logic to responding to or ignoring those emotions but in the end it is emotions you will have to deal with one way or another."
