It was all too reminiscent of things Remus had hoped never to experience again -- the pre-dawn hour, the dark mark in the sky, the people picking through the remains of a ruined home. The only missing was the bodies of the dead residents.
And for that Remus was grateful. Burying the Potters once was more than enough to last him an infinite number of lifetimes.
He'd gone toward the back, the rooms that had been James and Lily's, his own when he'd stayed there a spare few months before. Everything he'd owned had gone with him to Hogwarts when he left. It had all fit in one box. But, he gave a thought to seeing what was left in that room regardless as it had been Ted's room when he stayed there first.
Not that he knew his son well enough to know what would have meant something to him. They hadn't spent nearly as much time getting to know each other as Remus would have liked.
Turning away with a sigh, Remus spotted Harry wandering through the remains. Though he'd feared they would see reprisals for taking Lily from the family she'd married into, he didn't think any of them had expected action this swiftly. Perhaps they should have. She was going to be the mother of the heir to one of the older pureblood families. Even without blood being in question, most fathers and husbands would react with force if they could.
Heaven knew Remus would rip the country apart stone by stone if someone took Regulus or Ted or any future children that might come.
Still, justifications didn't make it any easier to accept the devastation that had been visited upn his friend. Moving toward Harry, he was at a loss for the right words and settled for a simple "Hey" as he placed a reassuring hand on the other man's shoulder.
