Snape nodded to Harry, "I felt it better not to wait."
He inclined his head in acknowledgement of Ginny's farewell, replying with a politely neutral, "Good night, Professor."
He seated himself at the indicated place on the sofa, and shook his head. "I haven't spoken to Dumbledore yet; if I couldn't find you, he would have been my next port of call." He paused before admitting quietly, "I was there when Al received your letter."
As usual, Snape believed in getting right to business. "If your defense is hinging on claims of memory modification, you'll need an expert Legilimens to find evidence and gather it for presentation to the court via pensieve." The pointed chin lifted, bony shoulders squaring. "If you have no others in mind," he concluded quietly, "I would be willing to perform a Legilimentic examination."
