RP: Harry, Ginny, Lily, Dumbledore Who: Harry, Ginny, Lily, Dumbledore Where: Godric's Hollow When: May 10 Rating/Warnings: Summary: Harry sends a present, and brings his daughter home.
Harry had pondered it before actually doing it, but he knew that he would forever hate himself if he didn't take the chance, so when he sent off his and Ginny's present, he'd turned the box into a portkey, activated by Lily touching it. She'd be at home, in her old room, the moment she touched it.
He'd told Ginny what he was about to do, and together they'd waited. Lily's bedroom was charmed with every possible extra charm to keep people from getting in (other than Lily or the family) and her from getting out. He wasn't sure they wouldn't have taught her how to Apparate, of if she wore a portkey taking her back, but the charms on the room efficiently stopped everything but house elves.
It was well past dark when she appeared before them, stumbling to the floor. Once movement and her wand was gone, and Harry was by her side. Ginny stood back, like they discussed, her wand hidden but trained on her, just in case.
"I'm sorry, sweetheart," he said softly. "But we needed to see you, and I couldn't think of another way." He looked down at the box. "Open it," he said softly. "It's your present. We wanted to see your face when you got it."
