None of this was right, not the way she felt talking to him, and not the responses he gave back to her. She wanted things to be like they'd used to - wanted to laugh with him and not think about whether or not one of them was going to be uncomfortable. It was the whole reason being friends with Dylan had been so good, they could say what they wanted and do what they wanted and at the end of it they both knew who the other was and there was no shame in it.
"I don't know, I seem to remember it being pretty small." She told him, with a small smile, teasing but without her heart in it. She wished she knew how to fix this, to make it all go back to the way it had been before, when they could just be happy together, when he could kiss her without thinking twice about it, when they could laugh without it being such a problem. But she didn't know how to do that.
