RP: Marlene, NPC Auror Who: Marlene, Auror Where:a library in Muggle London When: 28 April, 2025 Rating/Warnings: Summary: Marlene wants to get to know Tom Riddle
Marlene had enlisted the help of one Jeff Smith, Muggleborn and Auror, to show her around the Muggle world. She knew some things about the Muggle world, but she had no time to waste now, so Mr. Smith was forced to do her bidding, but since he was busy looking down her neckline while she read, she figured that it wasn't a great imposition. They went to a library in Muggle London. Marlene had expected to spend hours searching for books, but instead they sat in front of a flat screen with moving pictures. Smith was rambling about 'like a telly but not' and "informantion highway" and 'web' and other random words that Marlene didn't know. She had to admit that it was a lot faster than flipping through newspapers (all of the papers going back to the beginning of the 20th century were now online Smith said), but she missed the paper and leather bindings. The smell reminded her of her grandfather and Alastor, too, who was never too far from a book.
They printed all the stories that mentioned Tom Riddle, Sr. and Jr. and even some about Thomas Riddle. Smith assured her that the machine spitting out paper would capture all the information she needed. Marlene thought that it was a pretty nifty magic spell. Maybe they needed something like this in the division, although she'd still want the paper files. Once she obtained everything, she let Smith go, and went back to the division. Sitting in her chair, feet on her desk, she started to read every story over and over again, until she had them memorised them. Now, she could start narrowing down where the other memories would be hidden.
