"All right, I won't. I suppose it isn't conductive to the conversation anyway," she said, though when he went on the teasing went a bit over her head.
"Of course I care, you're family," she said plainly, surprised that he'd think that. "I might not always have acted as if that is the case, but nevertheless you are family to me," she assured him.
"And you're right, it is impossible, which is unfortunate. Logic dictates that this shouldn't be more than a donation, but emotions doesn't work logically."
She did return her smile with a grin. "Good," she said. "I'm glad, then you didn't pin all your hopes to me."
