Alastor shook his head. "I don't know that it is. But, he made it clear he didn't like 'our' influence on the Division, McKinnon's idea, my backing and further suggestions.
"But, it's not just the media. Neither of us commands the respect or loyalty amoung the Order itself that Dumbledore does. And we both tend to be more abrasive than is going to get us that until we've had a chance to prove we know what we're doing." He wasn't going to acknowledge the fact that he still wasn't sure they did know what they were doing. "Potter has to be our buffer to give us that."
Nor was Potter the only one for whom trust would be an issue. While Alastor didn't dislike the young man, he didn't trust him enough yet.
But, he knew he had to put that aside and give the boy a chance out of necessity.
