For a moment Alastor looked confused when Snape waved at the portraits of the former Headmasters of Hogwarts. And then, he realised he was too used to speaking with Aurors instead of academics. "No, sorry. I meant Head of the Division." He chuckled. "Seventeen, eighteen years ago I was the cocky rookie with a mouth on him."
It was then his turn to snort when Snape explained the reason for Potter's dislike of him. Did no one understand chain of command in this time? "His father's the boss. If it's work related, I take orders. It's my job."
Alastor wasn't a brash Gryffindor, but he could certainly appreciate a challenge. "Well, none of us are doing this because it's easy. But, I happen to agree that it's better to start working as a team now if we've any hope of doing so later. Which, I'd suppose leaves us with the question of when to approach him."
