"There's a new crisis, why else?" Remus answered with a dark chuckle as he joined Regulus on the other couch.
He'd said he'd be there to support Regulus when he told Sirius about his past and it was that role of support he forced his mind to stay in, sitting close to his lover and keeping one of Regulus' hands in his while his other arm rested along the back of the couch in easy comforting reach should it be required.
Remus only hoped he could keep his own emotions in check having to listen to this again.
"With Greyback's return, there are some things we need to discuss," he began, thinking a basic briefing before they jumped into things might be called for. "Sirius at least will remember the first war and the interest Greyback seemed to take in myself. If I liken it to Voldemort's interest in you, James, you'll have an idea. Only Greyback wanted to be bloody pen pals rather than arranging dinner dates, and I mean that in the literal sense.
"What I didn't know then is how personal it was. I don't know what history's recorded about this. You may or may not know this already. But, I didn't find out until I came to this time and read my own journals that Greyback is also the werewolf that turned me when I was five years old, most likely to punish my father for some slight I don't know about."
Taking a breath, he paused. "We don't know what year he came back from. So, we've no way of knowing how much of any of that he'll remember." Remus supposed they'd found out if he started receiving 'gifts' again. "But, if we assume worst case scenario, he remembers more than I do and that puts anyone close to me at risk because he'll hurt you to get to me -- all three of you, Ted, Harry, James and Lily, even Tonks.
"And he will use whatever he can to hurt us, from sick little taunts to physical violence to any information or secrets from that time that could be potentially damaging. The phrase 'sick fuck' was invented for Greyback."
