Dylan laughed. "I like my future well enough as it is," he said. "No need to change it, so unless we're talking a bed with an inbuilt warning system of danger approaching, I just want a run of the mill bed. Really there should be a store for the interior decoration challenged people with no opinions on whether they want a firm or soft mattress. A sales person looking at you and telling you what to get. Simple."
He took a bite of his food, smiling at her. "So how have you been this week?" he asked. They'd talked while looking at beds, but it had mostly been to tease the sales people or comment on the beds they'd seen. This was a chance to actually have a conversation. He knew she'd been the one to find the bodies, co-workers of his, though he hadn't known them well, and he wondered how she was handling it.
