Stephen smiled when he read the letter. Low in spirits. Really, who spoke like that? He'd have to teach her how to speak, but he supposed that it was the least of her problems at the moment. He put it aside until after work, and then he went home to wash up and change. Not so strangely his father stopped complaining about missing dinner when he found out that Stephen was taking Belvina out.
He arrived at the restaurant before eight o'clock, and asked for a table in one of the private rooms, since he doubted that she would like the noise level in the main room.
He didn't have to wait long before she arrived. "Hello, you look as gorgeous as ever," he said, leaning down to kiss her cheek. "I got us a private room. You can see everything from there, but we won't be seen. If you'd rather be in the main area, I can tell them to change it."
