"For some of them, not all," she said, smiling. "Some are more creative than others."
Marlene nodded. "It was a compliment. Witches really have horrible taste with the long robes, dressed like they are nuns all the time. It's ridiculous." She didn't comment that probably no one cared enough about the Muggle employee. For all of their progress, Muggles were not seen as equals.
She reached over and squeezed her shoulder. "Are you all right? Do you need something to drink." Marlene summoned her chair and pushed her toward Allison. "Sit, take a moment." She took a deep breath. "He wanted to distract people, nothing more."
